3 Earn 10 Shoppers Optimum Points for every dollar spent in-store using funds in your RBC Shoppers Optimum Banking Account accessed by your debit card and an additional 10 Shoppers Optimum Points for the same dollar spent in store by presenting your Shoppers Optimum Card.
4 To be eligible for the 5,000 Shoppers/Shoppers Optimum Points you must use our CustomSwitch^ service to close your Canadian dollar personal banking account with another Canadian financial institution and transfer the balance of such account to your new RBC Shoppers/Shoppers Optimum Banking Account within 120 days of account opening.
^ Transfer fees or other fees and charges may apply when transferring your pre-authorized transactions and bank accounts to us. The transferring financial institution or entity may impose these fees or charges. Royal Bank of Canada is not responsible for any such fees or charges and you will be responsible for such fees or charges.
5 Savings were calculated assuming 45 debits per month and are compared to RBC Day to Day Banking®, which allows for 15 free debits per Monthly Cycle and charges $0.65 for each thereafter. Calculation: 45 debits per month – 15 free debits per month = 30 debits per month x $0.65 = $19.50 per month x 12 months = $234 per year. The amount actually saved will vary depending on the extent to which you use each of the account services.

11 Foreign currency purchases are converted to Canadian dollars at an exchange rate 2.5 per cent over the Interbank Spot Rate (as defined by Acxsys Corp.), effective at time of processing. Since exchange rates fluctuate, the rate applied will usually differ from the posted exchange rate at the time of your purchase.
